Greg Miller Results (9/17/00)
The Syracuse Microd and Quarter Midget Club held their annual Greg Miller day event on Sunday. Considering the admission price was nothing, the fans saw some great action from both the Microds and the Quarter Midgets. This was the first combined event in quite some time.
In the Quarter Midgets, Joe Magill took his 13 to victory lane in the Senior Honda A class. Patrick Albor crossed the line second, and Steve Hutchinson was third. In Senior Honda B, it was the 08 of Nerissa Barzee carrying the checkered flag. Mike Williamson was the runner up, and Jeff Abold took third in his 05. Shawn Dunn and Brad Haynes rounded out the top 5.
In Lite 160, Ryan Beeman was the victor in his number 6. Steve Hutchinson took the second position, and Patrick Albor crossed the finish line in third. Brad Haynes finished fourth, and Josh LaRochelle (who was running up front and got juggled to the back) came back to finish in the top five. In Heavy 160, Kevin Easton won a close race beating out Jamie Shutts in the 2, and Nick Barzee in the 3. Jared Spafford and Bryan Haynes rounded out the rest of the top 5.
Robert Millier was victorious in the Junior Novice event, but not without a great effort by the 9 of Jacob Cintron (who kept the pressure on the 28 of Millier all day long). Austin Gilbert in the 11 (in his first appearance ever at Syracuse) took third, and A.J. Bernys rounded out the field. In Senior Novice, Jordan Davies took the victory in his number 5.
Michael Muldoon took his 50 to the win in Junior Honda A. Cameron Pearson was a very close second, Sean Mulholland was third, John Worden was fourth, and rounding out the field was James Wilson in fifth. Pearson closed right in on Muldoon on the last lap but was not able to mount a challenge.
In Junior Honda B, Dominic Cianfarano in the Carson Ford-Mercury sponsored car walked away from the competition for the victory. Eric Karlsen crossed the line behind Cianfarano, and Chris Hovis was third. Cianfarano also ran well enough to take the Junior Stock win, with Sean Mulholland in second. Cameron Pearson crossed third, and James Wilson finished fourth.
Tomorrow we’ll have the Microd finishes as well as the results from the special fun races that took place during the afternoon.
